Introduction:
The Happy League is a group of people who are happy. The original idea of The Happy League (before it came to deviantART, when it was very small) was to actively spread happiness.
Now we are just a group of people who, simply by being members, show that they are happy, and that they acknowledge that happiness is important. We encourage the spreading of happiness, and it is still our main goal, yet our main goal is simply to give the example by being happy, and trying to cheer ourselves up when unhappy.
Our main philosophy is that happiness should be the natural state of being. you should not need a reason to be happy, it should just be there, and unhappiness should only occur when there is a reason for it.
Goals:
The main goal of The Happy League is to spread happiness and helping the world become a better (and happier) place by doing so. Any member of The Happy League may choose to attempt to spread happiness in his or her own way, there are no rules on this matter, members may also choose not to partake in the spreading of happiness, and simply hold membership because they agree with our philosophy.
Our second goal is to set the example, show that we are a group of happy people, and that being happy is good and cheering eachother up when unhappy.
Our third goal is to be people who you can turn to when unhappy, members do not have to try to make others happy, but it can be assumed that most of them will. We hope to provide guidelines on how to cheer people up, and how to be happy in general. How to always look on the bright side of life.
Our fourth goal is to promote our philosophy, simply asking a person why he/she is unhappy is a way to promote it, we want people to know that being happy is good.
How we hope to reach our goals:
The single most important aspect of the way in which we attempt to reach our goals is freedom. Members do not have to actively parttake in the reaching of our goals. If they do want to actively parttake in this, they can choose their own way of doing so, just do what you think is good to promote happiness, we trust your judgement and believe that every bit helps.
We do have some suggestions on how to spread happiness:
- Make sure people know you are a member, this will not only help promote our philosophy, it will show them that you are usually happy, and that they can turn to you in times of unhappiness.
- Set the example, if you do something to make somebody happy, tell us about it and tell us how you got the person happy. Your input is appreciated and valued!
- Express your happiness, smile, laugh, have fun, just look at the bright sides of life.
- Try helping people who are unhappy, in some cases, there are real reasons to be sad, be careful in such situations, do not ask why people are unhappy in a way that is too direct, and use caution in trying to cheer them up, if people are really sad, cheering them up may take subtelty and wit.
- Ask people how they are doing when you are talking to them, when their reply is negative, ask them why and try to help.
- Always look on the bright side of life.
- Think of your own ways to live up to our goals, and tell us about them, so that we can post them here and let your ideas help others.
Expanding the network:
In order to spread happiness, the Happy League needs to create a network of members all over the world. Spreading word about The Happy League is essential for it's survival and it's efficiency. As The Happy League was not created to exert any binding rules onto it's members, nobody is obliged to spread word of The Happy League, it would be greatly appreciated if both members and non-members who hear of The Happy League attempt to spread word about it.
Membership:
Anybody can be a member of The Happy League, it is appreciated if deviantART members tell us about their membership, simply so that we can keep track of members, help them out when needed, and show the world that there are a lot of people who acknowledge that happiness is important.
To register as a member, please look at the details in the journal. Remember that you do not have to register to be a member, we like to know who are members, but we can see why people may not want their membership to be promoted.
Community:
The Happy League may, if desired so by members, become a true community with communication between members all over the world. If you want to interact with other members, you are free to use all the aspects of the userpage, if you want to submit a deviation that is in some way related to The Happy League, just send a note to :devthehappyleague: and we will be glad to help.
If you are not a deviant, but stumble upon this site by some freak coincidence, you can email to thomasnl@gmail.com and tell us about your impression of The Happy League, the user page, the philosophy, anything, you can also be placed in the journal as a non-devART member, and include any information you want.
Final words:
Join The Happy League, make the world a happier place, be part of something that may once be a great worldwide network of happiness. All you have to do is be happy, the world could be a better place!

If you have to think about whether you love someone or not, then the answer is no.
When you love someone... you just know.
